The Light Factory museum in North Carolina offers summer camps for students and youth that focus on fun with digital photography, film making, and digital media. The museum is one of only four in the country that celebrates both photography and film. The camps are on week long, with half-day sessions in all aspects of photography and film making for 3rd through 12th grade students. All camps cost $230 and take lace at the museum.

Popular camps include documentary film making, black and white darkroom photography and Photoshop. The Light Factory is also offering new camps this year including an introduction to stop-motion animation, fashion photo & Photoshop, toy camera photography and camps for special-needs students in photography and film. In the digital photography classes students will learn to maximize their point-and-shoot digital cameras by learning basic camera functions including f-stops, shutter speed, white balance, file types and shooting modes.

I can remember my childhood days, when my parents used cameras with films inserted in it. That was nothing but a hazard as you did never have enough films in a roll to save all your happy memories and that was equally costly. Digital cameras have provided us with unlimited memory to capture your happiest memories without any tension.

Since the widespread use of digital cameras, the word photography entirely means digital photography, as film still cameras are nearly extinct today but the basics of photography have not been altered. Some enthusiasts still use film still cameras, but when we talk about professional photography, the digital camera is definitely the best equipment. For portrait photos or passport size photos, digital cameras are helpful in many ways.
