First you will need to fill out the application, which you can find online or at any passport acceptance facility or agency, and at most post offices.
It is very important that you do not sign the application until you submit it in person. You can get your passport photos at many photo-processing stores, but you must follow the photo guidelines provided with the application. Make sure that you get two passport photos. You must submit the application in person, at the post office, public library or other state, county, township or municipal government office. Some of these locations accept passport applications by appointment only, so be sure to call ahead first.
